The Forgetful Spuds

As I mentioned in our last update, June was a jam-packed month for us.  Hope you enjoy all the pictures from our adventures!!

Josh celebrated his 31st birthday and received what every man his age needs: Star Wars Operation!  We went to Island Park for his birthday weekend to spend time with Jason, Dawnel, and the girls.
Conlin was pretty excited to receive a hat just like "the big boys" AKA Daddy and Uncle Jason.  It is for Jason's business and says, "Forget your breakdowns with Alzheimer's Repair".
Hailey and Anika were geared up and ready to shop in West Yellowstone.
Conlin decided that shopping was much more enjoyable if he didn't have to walk.
Kyria agreed with Conlin about hitching a ride with Daddy.
So cool they even had to wear their shades in the restaurant!
It is so hard to get a picture of these 4 together.  This is the best one I could get.  The girls purchased little stuffed dogs in their carriers.  They carried them for the rest of the day.
Hailey and Anika agreed to model the headbands they made together.  You can see our amazing cabin in the background.  We even had a private hot tub which doubled as a swimming pool for the kids.
Here you can see the reason the kids swam in the hot tub instead of the pool.  We woke up to snow on June 10!  The kids thought it was pretty funny.
We braved the snow and cold to spend a day in Yellowstone.  Anika wasn't thrilled with the smell.  I have a picture of me in pretty much the same pose at about her age.
The kids loved watching the mud bubble.
We were able to watch Old Faithful erupt twice that day.  Our hiking was cut short by snow and rain, but it was still fun to be back in the park.  The kids enjoyed their first visit and are ready to go again.
Our last stop in the park was this waterfall.  The kids were excited to finally see one!
Conlin had his first dentist appointment this month.  He was pretty happy to be considered a big boy.
A day at the zoo is more fun with cousins.  Gabriel and Conlin had a great time spending the day together.
Anika was so excited to see her baby cousin, Elliott, again.  I was playing with Elliott until Anika took over the job.  Anika loved it when Elliott smiled as she rolled the water bottle to her.
This year, Anika and I participated in our third Run for Chocolate.  I completed the 5K, and Anika did the 1 mile run.  She loves this yearly tradition.  She completed her mile in 12 minutes!
Since my sisters were in town for our cousin's wedding, I convinced them to do the run with me.  It was fun to do something like this together.
This was Conlin's first year to participate in this run.  It was a lot of fun for the kids because their cousins did it with them.
Anika has so much fun playing with Kaia.  Seeing them play together brings back happy childhood memories of playing with Kaia's mommy, Krystal.
We finally had the opportunity to get a family picture with all of us.  From left to right starting in the back:
Kevin, Kelli, Elliott (10mo), Jeff, Jana, Kendra, Drew, Sara, Josh
Caleb(2), Rhonda, Doug, Conlin (3)
Kaylee (3 1/2), Anika (5), Reagan (8), Patton (6)
It was a great weekend to take some pictures.  For the first time, all of my cousins on my mom's side of the family were together in one place!  It was pretty neat that this occurred on my grandpa's birthday.  Unfortunately, we weren't able to get a picture with all of us as my cousin had left on his honeymoon.  However, here are the other 19 of us with Grandma.
The day after the wedding, Josh and I hosted a family BBQ so that we could all spend more time together.  It was a wonderful afternoon!  Before everyone left, we took this picture of Grandma with all of her great grandkids.
Anika has been looking forward to Vacation Bible School since last June.  Conlin was pretty excited to be old enough to join her this year.  They had so much fun during the week that they were sad to see it end.  Lucky for them, we came home with the CD of all the music.  Of course, they already have it all memorized.  Unfortunately, I've heard the songs so much that I now find myself waking up singing the them!
Our first camping trip this year was to the Bruneau Sand Dunes.  We were excited to be out in the trailer again.  It wasn't much surprise that Conlin spent most of his free time playing hockey at our campsite.  He was quite entertaining to those camping around us.
The highlight of our trip was that the kids had their first fishing experience.  Despite not catching anything but "sea weed", the kids had fun and are excited to go again.

Anika really seems to enjoy running, so we try to enter her in as many kid races as we can.  Last week, she participated in her second triathlon.  She completed the 3/4 mile track in 8 minutes 24 seconds.

To finish out the month of fun, we took the kids to see the new Disney/Pixar movie, Brave.  My two favorite things are Disney and Ireland, so I was very excited for this movie.  We all loved it!
